The oak tree is the mightiest of the tree kingdom and represents divinity, strength and courage. This tall elder holds great wisdom. The oak is a living legend representing all that is true, wholesome, stable and noble. This tree is also considered the king of the green realm since it generously provides abundant gifts. Just as any good ruler shares his or her bounty with the inhabitants of their kingdom, the great oak tree reminds you to share your own individual gifts. This tree is grateful for the life giving forces of the sun and earth. This example of gratitude reminds you to give thanks for the same life force that sustains you.
The Sri Yantra mandala permeates from the tree as the holy symbol formed from the mantric sound pattern of Aum (Om, Amen). This vibration is the structure or blueprint of all creation. This sacred geometry symbolizes the feminine creative aspect of sacred sound, which creates patterns of light that mirror manifestations of Divinity. We are all a part of this sacred light. The Sri Yantra is the most powerful positive energy symbol.
This powerful symbol is formed by nine triangles surrounding and radiating out from the central point. This center is the junction point between the physical universe and it’s energetic source. The four triangles pointing up represent the masculine. The five triangles pointing down symbolize the feminine. The combination represents the union of masculine and feminine Divine. The Sri Yantra is enclosed by two rows of (8 and 16) petals, representing the lotus of creation and reproductive vital force.
The hand gesture located at the base of the tree is called the Mida-no Jouin Mudra. A mudra corresponds to certain aspects of the Hindu and Buddhist teaching designating a ritual gesture directed towards enlightenment. The Universe is composed of five elements, earth, water, fire, air and ether. Our body is also a union of these elements, represented by our five fingers. Hand mudras regulate these five elements. The fingers representing the five elements are: The thumb for fire; the index (Jupiter finger) for air; the middle (Saturn finger) for ether or space; the ring (Sun finger) for earth; and the pinky (Mercury finger) for water. The Mida-no Jouin Mudra is formed as the left hand mirrors the right hand representing the two worlds of enlightenment and illusion. Enlightenment is born from the realization that the physical realm is an illusion. Understanding universal intelligence consists of knowing that there is One underlying energy pulsating within all of creation. Our physical realm, which includes our physical bodies, is a part of this phenomenal energy.
The ancient celtic knot at the base of the image represents beginnings and endings. When looking at the knot, one does not see a beginning or an end. This symbol is a reminder of the timeless nature of Spirit and oneness.
