Your Soul’s Growth
Growth is the process of responding positively to every experience in your life. Every circumstance is an opportunity for you to grow into a healthier, more conscious being. Through the universal law of cause and effect, all happenings are in complete alignment with your soul’s purpose. When you fully understand that you create every situation happening to you, wisdom is born. Current situations in your life originated from previous thoughts, actions and desires. With this profound realization, you can begin to take full responsibility for everything happening in your life. You can either accept these circumstances as gifts for your personal development or you can blame them and become a victim. When you become a victim of your circumstances, you step into a state of helplessness, which slows the progression of your spiritual growth. From this dis-empowered space, suffering can manifest. Remember that you have a choice in how you view your experiences.
Perceived obstacles are opportunities that can be overcome by perseverance and wisdom. When you embrace every hardship and face adversity with a spirit of determination, it is inevitable that you will grow! What you learn from each challenge shapes your character. Your trials, sorrows and heartaches aid you in developing courage and strength. These are blessed opportunities that help you become stronger. How you meet each trial determines your future happiness and success. This incarnation is your own personal spiritual journey; these experiences have been created specifically for you and by you. How you choose to perceive this life is solely up to you. You can either allow circumstances to defeat you or you can reign triumphant over your life.
When you arrive at the understanding that each experience is ultimately for your own good, your life will begin to change. Realize that the purpose of your soul’s evolution is to reunite you back into your Beloved’s arms. Your soul is the bright and shining perfection of Spirit, but you may have forgotten this. Life’s experiences are the gifts that bring you back to the awareness of your Oneness. Don’t overlook these precious gifts. Life is constantly changing and growth is the process of embracing these changes in a positive way. As Heraclitus said, “The only thing that is constant is change” but remember—the only thing that is changeless is God!
“Growth means change and change involves risks, stepping from the known to the unknown.”
~George Shinn

The nautilus shell symbolizes the unending spiral of life, as it is associated with the cycles of time, the seasons, the cycle of birth, growth, death and rebirth. This exquisite shell also represents our ever-evolving journey here on earth. The spiral, which is the oldest symbol known to be used in spiritual practices, reflects the universal pattern of growth and evolution. The chambered nautilus is a living fossil that has survived almost unaltered for over 500 million years. Nautilus (meaning “sailor” in Greek) is one of the only shells existing before there were fish, dinosaurs or mammals. The nautilus consists of a series of chambers inhabited by a sea creature who remodels the chambers in the shell continuously throughout it’s life. As the creature grows, it moves forward into a new, larger chamber and produces a wall that seals off the older chambers. As it settles into its new space, the sea creature becomes ready for the next stage of its life.
The nautilus in this image reflects your own spiritual evolution. In order to begin a new stage of growth, you must accept change and place your consciousness in the present moment. Pay attention to your thoughts and actions and utilize them in a positive way. The nautilus also reminds you to believe in your dreams and set goals in order for them to come true. As you create new chambers for your personal growth and let go of the past, you continue to grow into a beautiful spiritual being.
